We are a team of passionate educators focused on creating meaningful learning opportunities for students in VIRTU Classrooms. We take a holistic approach to learning which enables us to identify the needs of each student, academically, and personally. Our team is trained in Conscious Discipline and we utilize social-emotional skills as a teaching tool.  We embrace the virtual space with live video sessions enabling us to connect and engage with students utilizing various hands-on activities and active movement breaks.

All sessions are delivered via a live online class, the instructor and students meet on Zoom and can see each other. Students are able to ask questions and can follow along in the class. A live class meets at a specific time, so it’s important to note the time zone of the class.

Our teaching staff are highly qualified, professionally trained, and certified. They are recruited both internationally and locally. These teachers engage in professional development activities throughout the year and attend summer institutes to support the programs at MLS including Teachers College Reading and Writing Workshop Summer Institute at Columbia University, High Scope and Conscious Discipline training both online and in the US.

VIRTU Academy provides a safe learning environment as we require all students to have their cameras on, and follow community guidelines and agreements. Teachers are responsible for all students during the session to make sure they are engaged in the class and if needed parents will be notified right away.

Yes! Our programs and workshops are specifically designed to stimulate and engage students cognitively, physically, and social-emotionally. 

VIRTU Academy will make every attempt to ensure parents and students have an enriching learning experience.  We pledge to provide all the support necessary for any technical or educational issues. We also recognize that unforeseen events happen.  If you need to cancel a registration, let us know at least 48 hours in advance, and we will provide a full refund.  If for any reason, you are not satisfied with a workshop, our team will work with you to find another workshop that fits your child’s needs.  If this solution does not meet your needs and you wish to cancel your registration, we will provide a 50% refund after the first session.  No refunds will be provided after completion of a workshop.

To maximize the fun and minimize parental effort, we keep supply lists short and most items can be found around the house.  You will receive a list of items required from the instructor a few days before the workshop start date.

Our experts come from a variety of backgrounds, nationalities, and have spent years developing their expertise.  We work directly with each expert to develop high-quality content that’s appropriate for each age level. All experts undergo extensive background checks, interviews, and reference checks.

Parents are sent detailed information about material list, lesson plan, and the zoom link a few days before the session. We ask that a parent make sure their child has all the materials for the session, and log onto zoom on time for the class. 

• Students under 7: Students at this age will need assistance of an adult to log in to the session and need a watchful eye of a parent or caretaker to make sure they stay on task. 
• Students 7 and older: Students at this age are more independent, so we just ask parents to ensure their child is logged on to the session and students will be able to independently follow instructions of the teacher.

We have developed high quality courses and workshops geared for children ages 2 – 14 years.  The sessions for younger children have been specifically designed for their shorter attention span and need for more frequent breaks. 

Yes!  You can log in to the workshops and sessions from anywhere via the shared link. 
Since the sessions are live, we ask you to keep in mind the timing and time zone.

You can choose to enroll your children in a weekly or the 4-week program as per your choice. We encourage you to enroll in the 4-week program to have consistency and an elaborate and a comprehensive understanding of the subject.

Students will not be given any workload or homework to do, apart from preparing the materials and additional supplies required during the class. 

The list of materials will be provided with the workshop details prior to the start of the weekly sessions. These materials are typically found around the house.
